Bacon-Wrapped Turducken

Bacon-Wrapped Turducken: Meat-lover's dream or carnivorous overload? Turducken is a whole chicken stuffed into a whole duck stuffed into a whole turkey. Wrap bacon around the turducken and you have yourself a meat feast! Turducken is a popular, traditional holiday dish from England. It was especially popular in the 18th century. The bacon addition is more of a recent western trend.

Bacon-Wrapped Turducken can be considered bizarre due to the overload of one thing, which in this case is meat. It is common to pair meat with potatoes and vegetables, providing a balanced meal with variety. Bacon-wrapped turducken pairs meat with meat with more meat, creating a caloric catastrophe with 25,000 calories in the entire turducken. The four meat combo may seem unnecessary to many people who would be quite satisfied with just a chicken, turkey, or duck on its own. Even many meat-lovers who like pairing different meats together such as sausage and pepperoni on pizza, or a bacon cheeseburger, may find this to be too much. And finally, what is essentially three birds stuffed into each other wrapped in strips of pig meat, isn't a very appealing process or appetizing image for many. But who knows? Maybe it's delicious. But for now, I will keep my meats separate. :)
